Lansing, September 14, 2007: jadian enterprises, a Lansing-based compliance and inspection management solution provider, announced that it has received a contract award from the Michigan Department of Transportation. jadian’s Enterprise Quality Manager software will be used to manage railroad crossing safety and maintenance inspections throughout the State of Michigan.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is responsible for enforcing safety and regulatory initiatives impacting railroad companies operating in Michigan. These regulatory laws govern crossing maintenance and the installation of traffic warning devices at approximately 5,300 public grade crossings. Safety Inspectors located across the state conduct diagnostic reviews at grade crossings to assess the maintenance of automated warning devices, signage, clear vision areas, crossing/roadway conditions, and other related railroad crossing information. In addition the safety inspector can recommend safety improvements to the grade crossing.

MDOT selected jadian’s Enterprise Quality Manager (EQ/M) software to replace its legacy system which was based on aging technology. The new EQ/M system will help MDOT manage railroad crossing sites and contacts, the entire inspection process (including scheduling and inspector workload balancing), in-field data collection with handheld devices (including photos), inspection reviews, enforcement actions (including fines), certificate and permit issuance, incident reporting and complaint management, and statistical reporting. The system will also be integrated with FileNet for document management and MDOT’s Railroad Project Management System for new crossing locations.

“This contract award again demonstrates the ability of our compliance toolkit to address any number of needs, including railroad crossing safety,” said Jerry Norris, President and CEO of jadian enterprises. “We are also very excited to win a contract in our home state. One of jadian’s corporate goals is to help plant the seeds for higher paying technology jobs and economic diversification in the area. This contract award takes us closer to achieving that goal.”
